Berekum Chelsea have announced the appointment of Samuel Boadu as their new coach, with the Ghana Premier League-winning coach taking temporary charge of the club until the end of the season.

The club hopes that Boadu, who led Hearts of Oak to a domestic double in his first season and won the Ghanaian FA Cup in the following season, can replicate his success with them.

Boadu’s appointment comes after Christopher Ennin quit his role as coach due to frustration, leaving Berekum Chelsea searching for a capable replacement.

The club had initially been in talks with former Great Olympics coach Annor Walker, but those negotiations fell through, paving the way for Boadu’s appointment.

Boadu is expected to take charge of Berekum Chelsea’s upcoming match against Accra Lions on Sunday. With 15 matches left in the season, the club is hopeful that Boadu can help them catch up with league leaders Samartex, who are currently five points ahead.

Boadu has previous experience in the Ghana Premier League, having coached Medeama and Hearts of Oak. He has also served as an interim coach at Cornerstone FC.

His reputation as a successful coach has earned him a top-flight return, and he is eager to lead Berekum Chelsea to victory.
