Former Hearts of Oak and current Berekum Chelsea head coach Samuel Boadu is rooting for Dreams FC to clinch the CAF Confederation Cup title, aiming to elevate the ranking of Ghanaian clubs in African competitions.

Dreams FC are set for an important tie in the CAF Confederation Cup as they take on Malian counterpart, Stade Malien in the quarter-finals.

The first leg is set for this weekend in Banako with Dreams hosting the return leg in Kumasi next Sunday.

Dreams topped their group to reach this stage, like Stade Malien who also displayed strong form with three victories, one draw, and one loss.

Coach Samuel Boadu, who previously guided Hearts of Oak in their 2021 African campaign, expressed confidence in Dreams FC’s capabilities, stating, “I know Dreams FC to be a good team, especially Karim Zito who is my father in coaching,” during an interview with Akoma 87.9 FM.

He further added, “It is my hope Dreams FC wins the CAF Confederation Cup so that we can get additional slots.”

Dreams FC aim to progress to the semi-finals, seeking to replicate the success of Hearts of Oak, the sole Ghanaian team to have clinched the Confederations Cup, achieving this feat in their debut campaign.
