Paris St-Germain orchestrated a remarkable turnaround thanks to a brace from Kylian Mbappe which propelled them to a resounding victory over Barcelona, securing their spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Trailing 3-2 after the first leg, PSG faced an uphill battle but showcased their resilience in a chaotic encounter at Barcelona’s temporary home, the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.

Barcelona struck first through Raphinha, but their momentum was halted when defender Ronald Araujo was shown a straight red card, reducing the hosts to 10 men for the majority of the match.

Capitalising on the numerical advantage, Ousmane Dembele, against his former club, found the net to extend PSG’s lead. Vitinha then equalised for PSG before Mbappe converted a penalty to put his side ahead.

In a fitting conclusion, Mbappe sealed PSG’s victory with another goal in the 89th minute, completing their stunning comeback.

With this result, PSG advances to the semi-finals for the first time since 2021, setting up a clash with Borussia Dortmund, who overcame Atletico Madrid in another thrilling encounter.

The semi-final first legs are scheduled for April 30th and May 1st, with the return legs set for May 7th and 8th, promising more exhilarating football action in the Champions League.
