Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca has expressed his satisfaction with the performance of Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and his teammates following their vital win over West Bromwich Albion in the English Championship.

Issahaku, a key figure in the team, played a crucial role as the Foxes secured a 2-1 victory at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Maresca praised the efforts of his players, highlighting Issahaku’s contribution in delivering an assist to secure maximum points on home turf as they continue their pursuit of Premier League qualification.

“We tried to attract them to our side and play some long balls for Stephy Mavididi, for Abdul Fatawu, it was just the plan of the game. I’m very, very happy for him (Ndidi), very happy for all of them. We have no doubt about Jamie, absolutely,” said Maresca post-match.

Leicester took the lead in the 22nd minute through Wilfred Ndidi’s strike, followed by Jamie Vardy’s goal in the 65th minute, assisted by Abdul Fatawu’s well-delivered cross, marking Issahaku’s 11th assist of the season.

Despite West Bromwich Albion’s late goal by Jed Wallace in the 76th minute, Leicester City held on to secure the win.

The victory sees the Foxes maintain their position at the top of the table with 91 points from 43 games, as they aim to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

Leicester City’s next league fixture is against Southampton as they continue their push for promotion.
