Asante Kotoko secured victory in the J.A Kufuor Cup with an impressive comeback against Nsoatreman.

The thrilling encounter took place at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. The match organised by the JAK Foundation to honour the legacy of former Ghana president John Agyekum Kufuor proved to be a fitting tribute to the esteemed leader who served two terms from 2000 to 2008.

Despite an early setback, with Abdul Rahman putting Nsoatreman in the lead just before half-time, Asante Kotoko turned the tide in the second half.

Steven Mukwala delivered a spectacular equalizer in the 57th minute, connecting flawlessly with Lamptey’s precise corner kick from the corner.

Later in the game, Nurudeen’s foul resulted in a penalty opportunity for Nsoatreman, but goalkeeper Frederick Asare showcased his skills with a remarkable save.

The turning point came in the 67th minute when Peter Amidu capitalised on a well-executed pass to secure the winning goal for the Porcupines. The young talent received Lamptey’s precise pass from the midfielder and delivered a first-time shot, sealing the victory.Kotoko clinch JA Kufuor Cup with comeback win over Nsoatreman
