Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil has been named to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Week (TOTW) after a standout performance this past weekend.
Painstil scored a goal and provided two assists in LA Galaxy’s 3-1 victory over San Jose Earthquakes, marking his first goal contributions for the team.
Painstil joined LA Galaxy in February from KRC Genk and has quickly settled into his new surroundings. He impressed in his debut game against Inter Miami.
With his inclusion in the MLS Team of the Week, Painstil finds himself in esteemed company, joining Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez upfront.
Other notable players in the team include Julian Gressel of Inter Miami, Luciano Acosta and Miles Robinson of FC Cincinnati, Celio Pompeu of St Louis, Andres Gomez of Real Salt Lake, Noah Eile of New York Red Bulls, and Toronto FC goalkeeper Sean Robinson.
Painstil’s move to LA Galaxy marked a significant transfer for the club, with the player signing a four-year deal as a designated player.
