Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochetino is pleased with the character of Cole Palmer who has impacted the struggling team instantaneously.

Chelsea beat Premier league rivals Manchester United 4-3 in dramatic fashion on Thursday night with Palmer stealing the headlines after his sensational hat trick ended United’s dominace over the Blues.

Arguably Chelsea’s best player this season, the 21-year-old has been a revelation under Mauricio Pochetino.

With 16 goals and 8 assists in the Premier League alone, he’s cemented his place as Chelsea’s top scorer, trailing only behind Erling Haaland.

Mauricio Pochetino was delighted with last night’s results and has described Cole Palmer as a talented player, with a great character and mentality.

“For me his character is laudable, he is an extremely talented player, from the moment we met, there was a connection, and trust. I think he deserves massive credit.”

Palmer’s 16 goals in the Premier League is the highest to be achieved by any Chelsea player since Eden Hazard’s recorded same number in his final season at Chelsea (2018/2019). Remarkably, he achieved that by playing 12 games lesser than the Belgian.

Chelsea lie in 10th on the league table after 29 games.

The victory over Manchester United offers a glimmer of hope to secure a European spot by the end of the season.
