Fenerbahce have been fined 115,000 euros following the club’s protestations during the Turkish Super Cup on Sunday and Galatasaray was granted a 3-0 victory.
In a prearranged show of protest, Fenerbahce fielded their under-19 team and left the field in the third minute.
Prior to Thursday’s Europa League quarterfinal matchup with Olympiakos, the club requested that the Super Cup match be postponed, but their plea was turned down. The Turkish federation also turned down the Istanbul club’s request for a foreign referee to oversee the game.
During the game, Mauro Icardi struck in the first minute to give Galatasaray the lead after at Sanliurfa. The entire playing body of Fenerbahce left the field before bringing the game to an abrupt end.

In response, the Turkish Football Federation has slapped the team with the fine and officially declared Galatasaray winners of the competition.
The Turkish Football Federation has been accused of unjust treatment by Fenerbahce after two players received one-match bans for clashing with Trabzonspor fans who had invaded the field during a league game on March 17.
Meanwhile, in their Europa League clash on Thursday – the match which compelled them to seek a postponement for the Super Cup, the Turkish side succumbed to a 3-2 defeat.
They will seek to overturn the deficit in the second leg of the quarter-final clash next week.
