After Leicester City’s impressive 5-0 win over Southampton on Tuesday, Fatawu Issahaku is inching close to a permanent move.

The 20-year-old scored his first professional hat-trick in the win and also provided an assist for Jamie Vardy.

The win was an important one for Leicester’s pursuit of promotion as they went four points clear at the top with two games to play.

If Leicester are promoted, which looks very likely, the club will have to trigger the obligation to buy Issahaku in the loan contract.

The winger joined the Foxes on a season-long loan from Sporting CP but could join Leicester permanently if he played 60% of games and the club gain promotion to the English Premier League.

The Ghanaian has been in impressive form this season scoring 6 goals and providing 12 assists in the Championship.

If Ipswich Town fail to win this weekend, Leicester will return to the English top flight and Issahaku will be expected to join the Foxes in a permanent deal.
