Ghana’s Dreams FC have been drawn against Mali’s Stade Malien de Bamako in the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The first leg will be played away at the Stade Mars 26 in Bamako on Sunday, March 31, 2024, while the second leg will take place at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

Dreams FC made history by becoming the first Ghanaian club to reach the knockout phase of the Confederation Cup since 2004 when both Kotoko and Hearts of Oak reached the final.

However, they will need to put up their best performance yet if they are to overcome the formidable Stade Malien, who won the tournament in 2009.

This is a great opportunity for Dreams FC to make a name for themselves on the continent and prove that they are a force to be reckoned with.

And they will have available experienced forward Joseph Esso after confirming his re-signing on Monday.

“Joseph made a great impact on the team during his time here,” Dreams FC General Manager Ameenu Shardow said.

“He is a player we know very well and we believe strongly he’ll be another great addition to the squad in achieving our targets.”

Esso added, “I didn’t hesitate at all to make the decision to return to this club when the opportunity came up.”

“This place proved to be a good home for me when I first arrived, and I hope to contribute to the aspirations of the club.”
