Black Queens coach Nora Hauptle recently visited Italy to scout talented defender Bénédicte Simon, who plays for U.S Sassuolo Calcio in the Serie A Femminile.

Häuptle was impressed by Simon’s performance during her team’s match against Fiorentina, and took the opportunity to discuss the player’s development and potential contribution to the Black Queens with Udinese Women’s Football Director Alessandro Terzi and Secretary Giorgio Gagliardi.

Simon, who is of Ghanaian descent, has made four appearances for U.S Sassuolo Calcio this season and is currently on loan from Juventus Women until June 2024.

She was born outside of Paris in Mantes-la-Jolie.

Her impressive performances have caught the attention of Häuptle, who is looking to build a strong squad for the Black Queens ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco this year.

With her wealth of experience and expertise, Häuptle is confident that she can assemble a formidable team that will make Ghana proud in the upcoming tournament.
