Ghana captain Andre Ayew showcased his stellar form with a breathtaking header in Le Havre’s recent French Cup match against Strasbourg on Wednesday night.

Ayew’s goal, a follow-up to two stunning goals against Lorient two weeks ago, signals a resurgence of form and confidence following his disappointing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign with the Black Stars.

The former Swansea City man earned a starting spot for Le Havre in the Round of 16 clash of the cup competition.

In a challenging away game, Racing Strasbourg took the lead in the 21st minute. However, Ayew swiftly responded just nine minutes later with a header, levelling the the score and reigniting Le Havre’s chances in the contest.

However, Emanuel Emegha scored to restore Strasbourg’s lead before Marvin Senaya cemented the victory in the 90th minute.

Despite a 3-1 defeat, Ayew’s standout performance served as a bright spot for the club.

As Le Havre gears up for their next game, Ayew’s sudden resurgence has sparked discussions about his capabilities despite being 34 years old.

After facing challenges at Nottingham Forest last year, which led to his departure, Ayew found a new home with Le Havre. The club’s trust in the U-20 World Cup winner is paying off, as the former Marseille forward has netted three goals in his last three games.

Following his disappointing AFCON journey with the Black Stars, Ayew’s newfound form raises questions about his potential continued involvement with the national team amidst retirement speculations.
