In a recent election held on Saturday, former Asante Kotoko board member, Evelyn Nsiah Asare, emerged victorious, securing the position of the new vice-president of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG).

In a significant margin of victory, she outperformed the incumbent, Maurice Quansah, receiving 128 votes in her favor as opposed to Quansah’s 65, out of a total of 166 votes cast.

This election result will see Evelyn Nsiah Asare occupying the second most prominent role within SWAG for the next four years.

Other notable winners from the SWAG elections include Kwabena Yeboah, who retained his position as the president of the association, running unopposed. Charles Osei Asibey also secured his role as General Secretary, continuing his service in the portfolio as the incumbent.

In the Deputy General Secretary elections, Keneth Obeng Adade emerged as the victor, overcoming the challenge posed by Oti-Asirifi Mensah. Owuraku Nsiah was elected as Treasurer without opposition, and Mavis Amanor will now serve as the Women’s Commissioner for the association.

In the Executive Council contest, Franklyn Anane Gyimah, Tilda Acolor, and Kwabena Ohene-Brenya emerged successful, while Kyei Manu did not secure a position.
