In-form striker Franck Mbella Etouga scored a hat-trick as Asante Kotoko made light work of Accra Lions on Saturday to get back to winning ways in the Ghana Premier League.

The Cameroonian’s three goals secured a 3-1 result for the league leaders at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

It took four minutes for Etouga to open the scoring with a superb left-footed strike from inside the box.

He doubled the lead on the minutes before halftime from the spot but Accra Lions halved the deficit through midfielder Kelvin Kyei who also scored a penalty.

Etouga made sure of the three points with his third goal in the 83rd minute with the Porcupine Warriors now six points clear at the top.

The 20-year-old, with 11 goals, leads the goalscoring chart.

He will hope to score when Kotoko meet arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the final match of the first round next Sunday in Accra.

Hearts who play Real Tamale United on Sunday are 13 points adrift of Kotoko.
