K. Sika FC showcased their outstanding preseason form by narrowly defeating Red Falcon FC 1-0 in a friendly match at the Adjiringanor Wembley Park over the weekend.

Having recently dominated Division Three side Auxano FC with a 5-0 victory in a friendly, K. Sika FC entered this encounter brimming with confidence. However, Red Falcon FC, known for their exciting style of play, offered a tough challenge.

Both teams created numerous scoring opportunities in the first half, with both goalkeepers making spectacular saves.

The pivotal moment of the match came in the second half when K. Sika FC’s Riyad Abubakar displayed his class, scoring a sublime goal in the 50th minute. His strike proved to be the sole goal of the game, as his team managed to protect their lead for the remainder of normal time.

Head coach Joseph Boateng praised his team for their mental fortitude in securing the win against a resolute opponent. He stated, “Today’s game was intensive, the game was good. The opponent played hard and pushed us to play hard as well, but overall it was a good game. We’re preparing for the next game and we’re going to train on how to keep the ball more, that’s an aspect we have to improve.”

Regarding their scouting efforts during preseason, Boateng noted, “Yes, it’s going well. I think we’ve been able to scout about two good players from the opposing team. I believe they are good players and hopefully we could add them to the squad if all goes well.”

Sika Oppong, the CEO of K. Sika FC and SK Sports Agency, a highly respected sports agency in the country, shared his assessment after the match. He praised both teams for their commendable display of football, stating, “It was a good and competitive game, and I’m glad my side won. Going into the next game, we have to keep working hard and improving on our weaknesses. We spotted some good talents, and hopefully, we can work things out and bring them on board.”

Their aim is to carry this form to the new season and achieve their target of progressing to the Division Two in Ghana.
