Former world champion Isaac Dogboe has revealed that there is a high demand for him to fight in the United Kingdom.
Dogboe was born in Accra and spent his childhood in Ghana before moving to London.
He won the Amateur Boxing Association British lightweight title in 2013 while boxing out of the Territorial Army London BC.
Dogboe has only fought once in the UK since making his pro debut in August, 2013. The Ghanaian won his second fight against Andy Harris at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall.
His fights have mostly taken place in the United States and Ghana.
The 27-year-old former WBO Super Bantamweight champion recently defeated American Joet Gonzalez in a split decision to become the top contender for Rey Vargas’ WBC featherweight title.
Dogboe was asked on TV3‘s New Day on Friday, August 5 about his target after Gonzalez’s victory.

“We [my team and I] don’t know,” Dogboe replied. “I praise God that I have options.”
“My promoters have informed me that there is a great demand for me to fight in the United Kingdom. We’ll have to wait and see what happens,” Dogboe disclosed.
“The night after the fight, I called my promoters and asked them what was next. They told me, Isaac, to go home, rest, and then we’ll talk about the next fight.”
Dogboe was greeted warmly upon his return to Ghana this week after defeating Gonzalez.
