Dogboe beat Mexican Cesar Juarez, among others, in the year under review[/caption] WBO Super Bantamweight champion Isaac Dogboe has bagged another title into his growing cabinet as he was named Sports Personality of the Year 2017 by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) on Friday night. The nation’s youngest ever world boxing champion was also crowned the Professional Boxer of the Year at the 43rd awards held at the Accra International Conference Center. In the year under review, Dogboe successfully defended his WBO International Super Bantamweight title against Javier Nicolas Chacon, among other feats. The awards night also saw the crowning of Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Teye Partey as the Professional Footballer of the Year, beating competition from Daniel Nii Adjei, formerly of TP Mazembe, Christian Atsu of Newcastle and Richard Boakye Yiadom, formerly of Red Star Belgrade.
