In a fight of huge significance to Ghana boxing, Paul Dogboe, the omnipresent father and coach of Isaac, is counting on the 23-year-old to beat the American and begin a period of dominance in his weight division like Azumah Nelson did at the peak of his powers in the 80s and 90s. “Magdaleno is going down that’s all I can say. Isaac is too hungry for this fight. We are going to see Azumah Nelson reborn,” Paul told KweseESPN. The former amateur boxer has been the biggest inspiration in Isaac’s career, guiding it every step of the way and watching him first overcome his Olympic disappointment to a pro at the highest level. He has 18 wins out of 18 fights with 12 knockouts but acknowledges that Saturday could be his biggest moment yet. “Fighting on ESPN with the world watching will be great,” Isaac says. “It is an opportunity to put ourselves out there. It cannot get any better. It is as good as it gets. “We are stepping into new territory right now and the brand is reaching the level we want it to in future.” “This is the first time he will be on ESPN and that’s huge, that’s big,” Paul adds. “This is what we wanted because now on a huge network, people will see who Isaac is, how good he is. “We are ready to take this title and move up. It’s a great opportunity and we can’t wait.” The last line suggests the Dogboes are looking beyond Magdaleno but Isaac knows Saturday will not be a walk in the park. “A world title is basically the highest prize in boxing. Ghana has not had one in a long time and I am determined to change that,” Isaac Dogboe, an Olympian at the 2012 Games in London, tells KweséESPN. “In [my] last fight at home, the Bukom Arena was overflowing. The love for the sport here is deep and I want to be able to give back to them on Saturday.” “Magdaleno is a great fighter but I am going to take him down,” he states. Source: 3news.com|Ghana  ]]>
