Chelsea are ready to appoint former manager Frank Lampard as interim manager until the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, according to reports.

Lampard was the club’s manager for a year and a half until being fired and replaced by Thomas Tuchel who was sacked barely a year after winning the Champions League.

The London team are now without a permanent coach after Graham Potter was fired last Sunday following a terrible run of defeats.

Bruno Saltor, who worked under Potter at Brighton and subsequently Chelsea, took charge of the club’s 0-0 tie with Liverpool on Tuesday evening.

Chelsea’s co-sporting directors, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, are leading the search for the club’s next permanent manager.

Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, co-owners, will make the final decision. Chelsea, who are presently 11th in the Premier League rankings, will play Wolves on Saturday before facing Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final next week.

According to reports, the club are considering Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino, Ruben Amorim, Oliver Glasner, and Luciano Spalletti as prospective permanent managers.
