Brazil has announced that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti will be their new head coach when he ends his stint with Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.

The appointment comes after a series of negotiations with the Italian manager with Brazil planning for life after the departure of Tite who failed to reach the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup.

Fluminense manager Fernando Diniz is expected to take charge of the Selecao temporarily until the arrival of Ancelotti who is aiming to finish on a high with the 14-time European Champions. Diniz will combine his role at the Brazilian club with the national team until the end of next season.

“His [Diniz] game plan is almost similar to that of the coach [irp posts=”298158″ ]that will take over at Copa America, Ancelotti.”

“We don’t call him an interim coach of the national team. He will come and make the transition in Brazil for Ancelotti,” stated Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the Brazilian Football Confederation.

Ancelotti rejoined Real Madrid in 2021 and won his second Champions League title with them having won the first in 2014.

He is the most successful coach in Europe’s elite competition, having won it four times, twice with the Spanish heavyweights and twice with AC Milan in 2003 and 2007.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are believed to be seeking a replacement for the former Italian gaffer with ex-midfielder Xabi Alonso emerging as a potential candidate to take charge next summer.
