Ghana and Kenya have made it to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with a final qualify in March, 2019 to go. The news came following a decision by the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (Caf) to disqualify Group F contenders Sierra Leone. The Sierra Leonean Football Association (SLFA) was banned by Fifa in October ahead of the Leone Stars’ double-header with Ghana. The suspension remained till the Stars were scheduled to play Kenya’s Harambee Stars despite attempts to resolve the rift between the government-backed leadership and the elected leadership.
On Friday, November 30, a decision was taken in Accra to have Sierra Leone disqulaified from the qualifiers. All its matches were subsequently annulled. This left Group F with three teams: Kenya, Ghana and Ethiopia, who are subsequently done with their qualifiers. With Ghana and Kenya atop the group, their March qualifier in Accra would be a dead rubber as they secure the two tickets in contention. Current Standing of Group F:- Kenya 7pts
- Ghana 6pts
- Ethiopia 1pt
