The Queens will play Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses at the Accra Sports Stadium in their final group game. The hosts will count on their home fans to give them the necessary boon as their performances in the two previous games seem to have divided support among locals. The game will be a repeat of the 2016 edition hosted in Cameroon, who counted on home support to beat the Queens 1-0 in the semi-final. Ghanaians will also have their attention on the Mali-Algeria game to be played concurrently at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium. The result of that game will definitely have a bearing on who makes it to the semi-final of the tournament and brighten those two teams’ chances of qualifying for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. While Ghana have been deficient in front of goal, Cameroon have scored five so far. They came from a goal down to beat Mali 2-1 while they whipped Algeria 3-0 in their second game. After a lacklustre opening game on Saturday, November 17 in a 1-0 win over Algeria, the Queens went down 2-1 to Mali in their second game, making Friday’s encounter much more difficult.
