Ghana’s male sprinters showcased their prowess on the track as all three athletes secured spots in the semifinals of the 200m event at the ongoing 2023 African Games.
Leading the charge was Joseph Paul Amoah, who blazed through heat 6 to claim first place with an impressive time of 20.91s.

Hot on his heels was Ibrahim Fuseini, who dominated heat 7 with a swift performance, clocking in at 21.02s to secure his spot in the semifinals.

Solomon Hammond also delivered a solid performance, finishing second in his heat with a time of 21.32s, ensuring his advancement to the next round of the competition.
These remarkable achievements come after Amoah and Hammond played crucial roles in Ghana’s silver medal win in the 4x100m relay on Wednesday evening
Now, with their eyes set on individual success, all three sprinters are gearing up for the semifinals as they aim to secure a place in the highly anticipated final.
The semifinals are scheduled to kick off at 17:10 GMT at the University of Ghana Stadium, promising an exciting showcase of speed and skill from Ghana’s finest athletes.
Team Ghana has now won three medals in Athletics including a bronze medal won by the female 4x100m relay team as well as a gold medal clinched by Rose Yeboah in the women’s high jump.
