Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu is looking forward to his first derby with Great Olympics as they prepare to face Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

The former Ghana midfielder signed a one-year contract with Olympics in August and made his official debut last week as the Accra-based club earned their first three points of the season with a 1-0 win over Bechem United.

Great Olympics will remain in Accra to face Hearts of Oak in the season’s first Mantse derby.

The Phobians will be looking for a win to get their campaign back on track after falling to Aduana Stars in their first game in Dormaa.

The 31-year-old has competed in local derbies in Spain, Italy, and Turkey and hopes to win his first with the Olympics.

“It will be a different ball game altogether because we know the pedigree of Hearts of Oak, the coach [Samuel Boadu] they have, the supporters and the quality of players they have in their team. It will be a different ball game but this is a league game.

“We’ll try to recover and do our best and make our supporters proud. It will be a very exciting game. The supporters will come to witness this great game and we will enjoy ourselves and make the supporters happy on Sunday,” Ayemang-Badu told 3Sports.

Olympics are unbeaten in the last four games against the Phobians.
