The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has issued a temporary ban on Aduana Stars’ use of Nana Agyemang Badu I Stadium in Dormaa for their home games.
The ban comes in the wake of alleged violence that occurred after their controversial victory over Tamale City on Sunday.
Aduana Stars secured a 1-0 win over Tamale City after scoring a penalty in the 10th minute of added time, extending their lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League by three points.
However, the post-match was marred by violence, with Aduana Stars fans allegedly attacking Tamale City players and damaging their team bus. Videos and photos on social media showed some players injured and the team bus in a bad state.

The GFA issued the temporary ban in accordance with Article 14(2) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, which allows for the closure of any league centre where the safety of clubs, match officials or spectators cannot be guaranteed. The ban forces Aduana Stars to play their home matches away, which could potentially affect their chances of winning the league at the end of the season.
“This decision has become necessary due to the unfortunate incidents that occurred after the Match day 25 between Aduana FC and Tamale City FC (outside the stadium) played on April 2, 2023,” said the GFA on Monday. “The Competitions Department is therefore advised to determine the venue for the Club’s subsequent home matches in accordance with Article 14(3) Premier League Regulations.”
The GFA also stated that the decision was without prejudice to the determination of the case pending before the Disciplinary Committee, who have been charged with hearing the case in accordance with the relevant regulations.
