The Black Stars have departed Accra to Kumasi ahead of the match against the Central African Republic (CAR) as both teams seek to make it to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast next year.

With the exception of Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew and goalkeeper Richard Ofori, Hughton has all other players available giving him an impressive number of 23 players to begin preparations with.

After holding an initial training on Monday with just 12 players most of the players have joined and have eventually left for Kumasi where they are expected to intensify preparations for the vital clash with both teams hoping to qualify for the renowned competition.

While Ghana need to avoid defeat to make it to the tournament given the nine points accumulated from their previous five matches, it is a must-win game for CAR who sit third with seven points behind Angola who have eight points.

The match kicks off at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday at 16:00 GMT.
