Sylvester Mensah, a former CEO of NHIA, was positive that Ghana will be better under his presidency.

“My victory and our victory will precipitate a new dawn and the departure from the lack of political will, inertia and drawbacks in the governance of this country”, he said.

Mr. Mensah noted that it is ideas that drive a country forward and that he has more than enough ideas that will change the state of affair when he assumes office as president.

He was however quick to the add that his source of inspiration comes from the Holy Bible especially from Ecclesiastes 9:11.

“The race is not for the swift, nor the battle for the strong”, he said.

“The battle is the Lord’s”, he added.

He was also upbeat that “My victory would precipitate a new dawn and a departure from the lack of political will, inertia, and other drawbacks in the governance of this country”, he emphasized.

Mr. Mensah said he is committed to his vision to unite the NDC, reward loyalty and create prosperity for all, when given the mandate.

While he remains hopeful, Mr. Mensah bemoaned the time frame for the election, saying there is no time for a full engagement with delegates.

He said aspirants  are left with no choice than to depend on the media to spread their messages though he observed the medium to some extent limits the kind of messages aspirants would want to share with delegates.

That notwithstanding, the former National Health Insurance Authority boss believes he will emerge victorious at the end of the day.

The second deputy Speaker of Parliament and Member of Parliament for the Nadowli-Kaleo constituency, Alban Bagbin, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Joshua Alabi and former President John Dramani Mahama also submitted their forms at the party headquarters Monday, December 17.

All candidates pledged to abide by all rules of the election and are hopeful of winning the election and eventually leading the party to victory in 2020.

Meanwhile, the Abuakwa South Constituency chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Sanusi Mohammed, has declared that Sylvester Adinam Mensah is both physically and intellectually fit for the presidency and urged branch and constituency executives to support him.
