The biggest weekend in the Ghanaian entertainment industry came to an end with KiDi walking away with the ultimate prize of the night, the Artist of the Year award. After all, was said and done, Robert Klah saw all they had coordinated and said, ‘it was good.
Robert Klah, head of PR and communication for Charterhouse, summarized feedback from the hectic weekend of glamour, wins and disappointments. Despite the usual minor technical hitches, Mr Klah confirmed the success in an interview with Cookie Tee on TV3 NewDay.
“When people are happy about what we’ve done, it means the job is well done. In marketing, there’s something like a customer is the one who defines a job well done. So, if they are happy, we are happy. From different phases, all the way from Vodafone who are partners, TV3 our partners, from the artiste that we worked with, from those who received awards to those who watched, I think it’s an excellent mark.
“However, there are always gaps that you would have, and you would want to improve upon them the following year. Room for improvement, yes, but for as long as all the parties involved are happy, I will say that we’ve done well.”
The head of Charterhouse’s Comms team also explained how outsourced teams can significantly impact the outcome of an event. This outcome may be positive or negative depending on how Seriously these teams take their work.
“We work with different teams. So we are responsible for events and there are some people who are responsible for technical stuff. You bring in experts because you want them to do what they are supposed to do… So there are people we work with who will not necessarily pull up like they ought to, but you try and work around it.”
He concluded, “There’s room for improvement, but I don’t want to dwell on the negatives because there are a lot of positives.”
