Ghanaian music sensation Black Sherif, who recently clinched the coveted “Artiste of the Year” award at the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), has shed light on his relationship with his former record label, Wayne Chavis Records.
In a recent interview on “Daybreak Hitz” with Andy Dosty, Black Sherif clarified that although there is a lack of communication between them, they are not enemies.
Since his momentous victory at the VGMA, Black Sherif revealed that he has not received any congratulatory messages or outreach from his former record label.
However, he emphasized that the absence of communication does not imply animosity between them.
In the interview, the ‘Kweku Killer’ singer shared his perspective, stating, “We don’t talk, and we are not enemies too. I am very quick to put things behind me and move on. I don’t invest too much energy in things that will drain me because I have other challenges and personal matters that I am dealing with and not comfortable sharing. Therefore, I choose to leave such things in the past.”

Black Sherif’s statement also reflects a mature and forward-thinking approach to maintaining a positive outlook and concentrating on his own aspirations.
Adding that, “I keep adding things like this behind me.”
It may be recalled that Snap Chavis Wayne, the former manager of rapper Black Sherif filed a lawsuit against the musician at an Accra High Court.
The legal action stemmed from Wayne’s claims that the popular ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ hitmaker left him without consent to sign a record deal with another label, Empire Entertainment.
The allegations against Black Sherif were first brought to light by DJ Slim, who accused the artist of ingratitude.
DJ Slim alleged that Black Sherif abandoned a 7-bedroom house, a car, and other personal items provided by his manager for his use.
