Tonight is the VGMA 23 Industry Awards, but tomorrow is when all the dramatics and theatricality will flood your timelines with who won what and others. And gospel artist Joe Mettle looks forward to sweeping all five nominations on the big night.
“Let’s win them all”, and why? As a one-time winner of the VGMA Artiste of the Year, Joe Mettle is bent on making another historic win in one night. He tells Berla Mundi on TV3 NewDay, “What I normally say with these kinds of stuff, every category has been thought through. The fact that you are there because they believe that you worked hard and everything. I will always say that same as everyone else in the category. If it goes in your favour, that’s it. If it doesn’t … well. So that you don’t get too ‘I have to, if I don’t… then.”
Even after putting himself first, Joe Mettle believes that for the ‘topmost award of the night’ category, “Everyone in that category can win.”
Joe Mettle offers a different perspective on being nominated disclosing that ” even nominations are sort of endorsement and encouragement that you’ve done good work. I believe that every category I’m in can win.”
Joe Mettle has five nominations, namely; Artiste of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year, Male Vocal Performance and Vodafone Most Popular Song.
