Amerado Burner has said he will be very disappointed if he does not win the VGMA 2022 Rapper of the Year award.

During an interview on Hitz Fm, Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, professionally known in showbiz as Amerado Burner, is happy with his nomination but hoped to have scored another in the Album/EP of the Year category.

He said, “When the list was announced, I thought I was supposed to be nominated in the Album/EP of the Year. I think the Board knows better. I was disappointed when I wasn’t nominated for the Album/EP of the Year. I’m cool now.”

He continued to appreciate the award scheme for recognising his consistency in the rap game. Even though the prize has eluded him for long, he is optimistic that his work will speak for him this time.

“I’ve been very active in the game for the past two years. I know deep down in my heart, I’ve worked hard to win. Even though all my brothers in the category deserve it as well because they have also worked hard.

“I’m not going to say I don’t deserve it. Or, I’m not going to say I won’t be happy if I don’t win it. But, then, I leave everything into the hands of the people and God and also my hard work. I pray that it pays off. “

He added that he would be very disappointed if he doesn’t win the Best Rapper of the Year award this year too.

“Of course, I’m human, and nobody loves to lose. So, if I do not win the Rapper of the Year award, I will be disappointed. If I lose, it’s all for the game. I will just come back stronger. That’s all,” Amerado Burner concluded.
