Renowned awards researcher has absolved himself of all blame concerning this year’s VGMA nominations and any other award schemes.

According to Dan Lartey, the year under review for VGMA22 was a fiercely contested space, hence, the keenly competitive nominees for the various categories. Speaking with Mz Gee on Simply Showbiz, He revealed that most artists come at him for their absence on the VGMA nominee list.

But he insists that artists nominations are purely made based on their hard work. He said, “That is what they do. Sometimes I ask myself, why? I am just a researcher. I provide data for the board to go through the list and go like, okay, this artist or that song qualifies. But I don’t why they blame me if they don’t get nominated.”

Citing Kofi Kinaata as an example, Dan Lartey mentioned that he always gets nominated for Songwriter of the year because of the reception from the public whenever he releases a new song. He also pointed out a similar phenomenon with Trigmatic, nominated for Best Record of The Year five times in a row. According to Dan Lartey, artists should consider all factors that good music stands for.
