A slight variation from the one showed at the Accra International Conference Center, the documentary, franchised by international partners BBC, attracted millions of eye balls. The documentary film is captioned ‘Betraying The Game’ and it is part of the Africa Eye series of BBC Africa. It exposes corrupt match officials in football on the African continent. Referees from Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire and Kenya are seen taking cash to influence the results of games. It is the continental version of the exposé of Ghana football screened with the title: ‘Number 12: When Misconduct & Greed Become the Norm’. [caption id="attachment_83974" align="alignnone" width="599"]Anas' Number 12 “Number 12” was premiered on June 6 at the Accra International Conference Center[/caption] Already, that exposé has led to the dissolution of the Ghana Football Association and the concomitant resignation and global ban of Kwesi Nyantaky, hitherto the President of the GFA. During the screening on television, TV3 captured almost half of the entire viewing public across the nation. Statistics pegged average viewership at 49.81 per cent, translating into over 6 million viewers, with UTV in a distant second at 12.32 per cent. Not even international channel Al Jazeera could get anywhere close to TV3. Over 140 thousand others across the globe logged on via TV3 Ghana. Source: 3news.com|Ghana ]]>
