Media General’s news team in Kumasi joined members of the TV3 Fan Club in a clean-up and tree planting exercise to promote a healthy environment in and around Atonsu. In line with the environmental sanitation campaign ‘Garbage Out’, the exercise was to lead by example and create public awareness on the benefits of environmental sanitation. The clean-up exercise was to drum home the importance of cleanliness to the socio-economic growth of the country. Media General’s news team and enthusiastic TV3 Fan club members collectively supported the exercise to the admiration of community members. The group cleared choked drains of plastic waste, swept filth and cleared weeds grown near streets within the Atonsu community.
