Ghanaian musical artist, Chief Osei Bonsu popularly known as Tulenkey is speaking out after his rap joints did not receive any VGMA nominations this year.

The 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards nominations list was announced on Saturday, March 18 at an event that saw industry stakeholders in attendance.

However, the rapper who has had a number of successful tracks in the year under review was apparently missing on the nominees list and other Best Rap Performance lists in the past.

This Tulenkey believes shows a lack of appreciation for his craft and body of work by the VGMA board.

Tulenkey  posted his statement on Twitter just hours after nominations for the awards were announced.

“I’ve been dropping the hardest rap joints ever since I touched down. Last year was Point Of View, the year before was Undertaker, before that Child Abuse, Forever ‘96 and not even a single nomination for Best Rap Performance? I guess somethings are never appreciated,” he tweeted.

Tulenkey who hails from Kibi in the Eastern region made his phenomenal rise into the music industry with a verse on Sarkodie’s critically acclaimed record Biibi Ba which featured other rap stalwarts including Amerado, Lyrical Joe, Frequency, Kofi Mole, Toy Boi, Yeyo, 2 Fyngerz, O’BKay and CJ Biggerman.

Since his debut, he has released Child Abuse, a rap cover of Cardi B’s I Like It, Proud F*ck Boy, Your Girlfriend and many other chat breaking singles.
