Ghanaian creator of ‘Ameno Amanpiano’, Nektunez, rages like a bush fire through the global musical stage. Confirming streaming records to Giovani on Showbiz360, Nektunez reveals that America tops the charts, followed by Nigeria, South Africa, UK, France, Brazil, then Ghana.
Born Noble Kwame, Nektunez has smashed global records with his ‘Ameno’ (Dorime) single. Everyone wants to ‘bam-bam with the big boys’ in nightclubs, lounges, parties. This is what he had to say about the beautiful creation.
“It was just me trying to put out my creative piece together and then share with the world. There was this time in my career I felt a lot of people could not relate to my kind of music. So, instead of waiting on the artiste to jump on my work, I would rather be creative about it. Get old school vocals, tweak it, sample it and then put it out there because I believed at that point that some people in the world are craving for my music, and they haven’t heard it yet.”
Nektunez, as a producer and sound engineer, has worked with Camidoh, Stonebbwoy, Manifest and other local acts. He attributes his passion for music to nurture and the church.
“Growing up, I was surrounded by musically inclined people. We will go to church, and then you will see a lot of people playing instruments. So it was just a matter of time I started playing the drums and then the keyboard at some point,” Nektunez revealed.
He also had a piece for how music from Ghana can easily cross borders for the long haul. And promised bigger songs without any pressure.
“I actually see this as a stepping stone to greatness. I don’t see it as a challenge. So it can only get better from here. That’s how I see it. I’m not pressured at all.
“I just feel we as Ghanaians don’t factor the world in our production. We are focused on local consumption. If we fuse in Western sounds, people outside Ghana can also relate to our music,” Nektunez concluded.
