Dancehall artistes Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are set to hold a peace concert to finally bring closure to their long-standing feud. The two have been at loggerheads for years, and things came to a head at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) on Sunday, May 19 when Stonebwoy  pulled out a gun on seeing Shatta Wale and his entourage advance towards him while on stage to receive an award.

Following the incident, there have been calls from industry players and fans for the two to come together and smoke the peace pipe. Weeks after the incident, the two had a meeting ostensibly settling their differences and posted on social media pictures they took together. It is in line with this move to make peace that the two announced at a joint press conference in Accra on Tuesday that they are planning a peace concert – which will rope in their fans – in the bid to foster peace and unity. “People should just watch out for a great concert, something to portray peace, something to promote peace, something to promote Ghana,” Shatta Wale said at the press conference held in Accra. According to the two, a date and venue for the concert will be announced at a later date since preparations are still ongoing. Stonebwoy said the two of them have been looking forward to making peace for a while now and that it is only right they make things work now. “We have been yearning for peace for a long time, because in unity, creativity thrives,” he stressed. The two also called on their fans to let peace prevail and not engage in any act that will distort the peace that has been sealed between the them. Source: 3news.com|Ghana  ]]>
