Kumawood actor Collins Oteng’s wife’s death ravaged Ghanaians yesterday after the news went public on Saturday, November 19, 2022. His bosom friend and colleague, Oteelge, has confirmed the sad demise of Okomfo Kolege’s pregnant wife and unborn baby.
Recounting the incident to Zionfelix, Oteelge said that Okomfo Kolege had refused to attend a program with them because his pregnant wife needed him. He disclosed that Oteelge told him he was expecting his wife to go into labour soon.
According to Oteelge, he received the news on his return from the event he was supposed to have gone with Okomfo Kolege.
“I got a call yesterday that Okomfo Kolege’s wife is dead. I told them to stop making things up. Immediately I called my brother, and hearing how he spoke to me, confirmed that the woman has died.”
Still narrating the story, Oteelge said that on the morning of labour, Okomfo Kolege’s wife, despite her pain, tried to get some house chores done. As a nurse, she said this was to hasten the labour process before going to the hospital.
“He was standing outside, and they were inside (hospital). Then the woman started palpitating, saying she cannot push the baby out. So they (the medical staff) saw that the situation was getting serious, so they rushed her to the theatre to perform a cesarean section.
“According to my brother, his unborn child died first. And right before they could cut her open, she also died.”
