Your popular music reality show Mentor is back on the screens following the launch of the 2020 edition on Sunday, October 4, 2020.
Sixteen contestants will battle it out for the next 13 weeks in search of the brand new car and two mastered songs to be given GH¢50,000 worth of airtime across Media General platforms, as the prize package for the ultimate winner.
The virtual launch was held at TV3‘s Studio B.
The event saw contestants from the 2019 edition, among them winner Optional King, pass through with top-level performances.

Launching the event in a virtual message, General Manager for MG Television Francis Doku said the show will travel till the end of December, when the winner will be announced.
“We know that this season is also going to be competitive,” he observed, in juxtaposition to what pertained in the previous edition, Mentor Reloaded.
He expressed gratitude to the judges who criss-crossed the entire country in hunt for the finalists for this year’s show.
Music producer Appiah Dankwah, popularly known as Apietus, was in charge of the South Eastern zone, veteran musician Bessa Simons was in charge of the Middle zone and musicians Adina Thembi and Edem were in charge of South Western and Northern zones respectively.

The finalists are Don Rhymer, Netty, Rhoy and O’boy for Team Edem, HD, Hyndu, Kwaku Bany and Gibichris for Team Adina and Ayeyi, Semenhyia, Sena Vocals and Mandy for Team Apietus.
Team Bessa has Lyte, Zara, Abyna Morgan and Xnaiq.
All of them showed what they bring to the stage to own it as this year’s tagline suggests – Own The Stage.
Aside going home with ultimate package, the winner will also have the bragging rights.
The first runner-up will receive GH¢10,000 cash amount in addition to one mastered song and GH¢40,000 worth of airtime across all Media General platforms.
The package for the second runner-up includes GH¢8,000 cash amount, one mastered song and GH¢30,000 worth of airtime across all Media General platforms.
The third runner-up will receive GH¢5,000 cash amount, one mastered song and GH¢20,000 worth of airtime.
