The General Overseer of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun, has extended a generous act to veteran gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng amid the latter’s financial challenges.

Prophet Nelson-Eshun on Sunday during a church service provided Edward Akwasi Boateng with a new car, a fully-funded scholarship for his children’s education to the university level.

Nelson-Eshun also pledged to provide the veteran gospel musician with a monthly allowance.

“What you did touch my heart, selling your own pen drive containing your music so I said I wanted to give your children scholarship till they are done with university and it starts today.

“I also decided to get you a new car and this is the document and the key…from tomorrow there is an amount of money that every month I will be giving to you,” Prophet Bernard said as he handed over the key to the veteran gospel musician.

The popular gospel musician was spotted on Tuesday, February 20 selling pen drives containing his songs at Asafo in Kumasi to generate funds to settle his wards school fees.

The viral video caused shock to some Ghanaians who wondered why a veteran musician with a reputable recognition would end up in such a situation.

However, Bernard Nelson-Eshun noted that after seeing the viral video of the gospel musician selling pen drives, he was touched to support him in his dark moments.

“You have touched the bodies of Christ and fought for the kingdom and even though I do not have it I know because of you may have come to know the Lord…it touched my heart that you decided to sell pen drives,” he added.

Akwasi Boateng had divorced his wife five years ago. According to him, his current situation also stems from the fact that he did not get a “helper” as a wife.

“I did not get a helper so I spend more than I earn. At a point I was not being fed in my own house but a teacher who has come to teach my children is rather fed. I have built my own house to accommodate us all but when food has been prepared, I’m not being fed because they say I did mot provide money,” he added.

Edward Akwasi Boateng has long been celebrated for his wonderful songs, including the popular ‘makoma so ade’, ‘Adea Mepe’, ‘Gye wo mpaebo di and others.
