Music promoter cautions upcoming artistes to desist from badmouthing top artistes for publicity

Kwaku Asiedu[/caption] Music promoter, Kwaku Asiedu of Highly Spiritual Music has cautioned upcoming artistes to desist from throwing shades at top artistes just to make it to the mainstream music scene. Rather, he urged them to focus on producing good music. He said this in reference to the recent brouhaha between top artiste Cabum and Hakem Issah of TV3 Talented Kidz season 9 fame. Speaking in an interview on 3FM’s Easy Stream, the music promoter said underground artistes should throw positive challenges and desist from trying to tarnish the image of the artistes as a means of promoting their songs. “It is always good to ride on others to become a relevant person, but a lot of artistes do the negative side just to run down and rubbish other people, and that is not what I am talking about. I am talking about the healthy competition that will challenge other artistes to do better. A lot of people are doing this because of space to promote themselves,” he said. Background to controversy surrounding Hakeem and Cabum [caption id="attachment_86332" align="aligncenter" width="605"] Hakeem[/caption] Hakeem Issah of TV3’s Talented Kidz accused rapper and producer Cabum of song theft. According to the young rapper, Cabum stole his song “Rap Alphabet” a single he recorded three months before the grand finale of the 2018 Talented kidz. He further explained that after the reality show, Cabum gave him a shout out on social media on the alphabet rap he performed during the show, a gesture he appreciated and was looking forward to thanking the producer in person. It was with this intent to express his gratitude to Cabum, when he took to Cabum’s facebook account to thank him only to chance on a song with the same title released by the producer. The manager of Hakeem, 2 Pesewa on his part said Cabum might have taken inspiration from the kid’s performance after watching this year’s Talented kidz finals. Meanwhile, Cabum has come out to deny the allegation of picking inspiration from the young rapper and laughed off the allegation. According to him his inspiration came from an American rapper Papoose who composed “Alphabetical slaughter “and not from the Hakeem.
