A former contestant of Date Rush Season 6, Lovia Gibson better known as Miss London has detailed how her initial relationship with her former boyfriend ended and the journey to find love again.
Lovia and Brynn Gibson went on TV3’s New Day earlier today, April 12 to share their love story with the public.
The couple who met on TV3 premises after Lovia participated in the hit reality TV series where singles search for love on live television said the union was divinely orchestrated.
Recounting the sordid details of how she got her heart broken prior to becoming a contestant on the show, Lovia said her relationship of two years crashed because her ex-boyfriend cheated on her with a literate woman.
According to Lovia, her ex-boyfriend had repeatedly told her she was not good enough because she failed to speak well.
“I had been in a relationship for two years and my ex-boyfriend left me to be with a woman who attended the university,” she recalled.
The incident she revealed pushed her to search for love on National Television.
Further buttressing her point, she said a relationship with a man on television was more genuine because a man who was popular would be guided in his ways.
“I decided to come for Date Rush because I believe a man who is showing up on TV will not do me badly because people have seen him,” she disclosed
Speaking on the backlash and mockery she faced after people noticed her poor command of the English language, Lovia said it was not a bother to her but it was shocking to hear people say she was pretending about her language abilities.
“When I first came on the show, I was already a comedian in viral skits with the name Miss London so I decided to use my original name on the show,” the now Mrs Gibson said “People laughed at me because I couldn’t speak good English and others said I was pretending because I dressed like a university student but this is me. I’ve not even been to secondary school”
Her husband, Bryn Gibson who narrated how they met on the show said they first met at the auditions and he took a liking to her during a discussion the ladies were having on the side.
“I met her during the auditions and I heard her talking to some of the contestants on whether they’ll go for an already-made man or a man who was now building his life and she went with the latter view,” he said.
The pair despite meeting at the auditions did not connect there because Bryn had a call and needed to leave but he later found out that they had a mutual connection at his work place who shared the contact of Lovia with him.
“I did not speak to her the first time because I received a call and had to leave but the second time when we came for the photoshoot, I tried to speak to her thrice but I held back”
Later I found out that she attends the same church with a lady who works in my office and she gave me her contact. You see how God works” he narrated

Lovia and Bryn tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. Their union has been celebrated by fans of the showing for breaking societal stereotypes and class stratification in recent times.
