The end of one road is actually the beginning of another. Despite eviction from Mentor X, Jiwu Nika and Kay Dee are optimistic about their music career.

The rod of eviction fell on the budding female rapper and singer Kay Dee after their performances and votes could not meet the benchmark to stay in the competition.

Speaking in an interview on TV3 New Day, Jiwu Nika stated that “I am always positive. For example, even on my status, I always write positive abundance in all my endeavours before I even upload a photo. I have confidence because I know it’s not easy participating in the competition.”

She recounted that she became the only selected female among the lots during the Kumasi auditions. Jiwu Nika mentioned that the Mentor platform has also allowed her to be known as a female rapper. She is proud of how far she has come in Mentor X, and her journey in the competition has contributed to her growth in shaping her music career.

“I’m feeling good. Now the whole world knows my name and knows there is a female rapper called Jiwu Nika. And for that reason, I am very proud. I believe that the impact has been made.

“Everything happens for a reason, and I believe in time. I think I was supposed to leave, and so it was time for me too. I sincerely appreciate the love shown to me so far. Thank you for everything that you’ve done for me in this competition and for making me come this far. Thank you all,” she said.

Kay Dee also revealed that he will be releasing songs on afrobeat genres. And eviction from the competition will not deter him from fueling his music career with hard work and success.

“The songs I am about to release are afrobeat because of my voice range. My voice is that sweet smooth tone, that kind of afrobeat vibe. I found myself, and I realised this is what I can do.

“I am not going to stop the music. I have written songs that I will be releasing. TV3 has granted me the opportunity and the exposure. So when I release a song, people will be willing to listen and support me,” he added.
