During his 9th televised address to the nation on the government’s efforts at curbing the deadly coronavirus outbreak, President Akufo-Addo wore another unique local fabric.

Over the past couple of weeks, the president has addressed the nation wearing fabrics that are not only pleasing but also have unique meanings.

3news.com has explained the meanings of some of the fabrics from past addresses.

During the Sunday, May 10 address, Twitter user EL-DAD @ChristDeKing, who is now famous for educating the public on the meaning of President Akufo-Addo’s local shirts, was called to action again.

After the address, he revealed that the president wore ‘nkyenfre’ fabric.

“Fellow Ghanaians, The President Nana Addo wore nkyenfrɛ fabric [The residue or remnant of broken pot]” he tweeted.

According to him, “Prez. Akuffo Addo is telling us it’s broken but we can still make it better with what we have as a nation. #StayHome #StaySafe”
