Sensational Ghanaian rapper, Kwaku Nsia Boama commonly known as Flowking Stone has opened up about his reasons for basing his career in Kumasi despite his success at the onset of his career.

The 1/2 of the Bradez Brazde duo who shot to fame after the release of their songs ‘Simple’ and ‘One Gallon’ said he kicked against the decision to relocate to Accra so he could inspire other young rappers in Kumasi.

Speaking with Andy Dosty on Showtyme, the ‘Fire Bon Dem’  rapper said he did that because he wanted to prove that you can make it anywhere in Ghana and not just Accra.

“From 2003 till date, it was always about Kumasi. I was supposed to move to Accra to compete with the big rappers but I decided to stay to let them [young rappers] know you can make it in Kumasi,” he said.

Flowking Stone who is also the younger brother of Ghanaian lyricst, Okyeame Kwame said he wanted to break the mindset that existed that every young artist should move to the national capital to be accepted.

Today the likes of Asaaka Boys, Yaw Tog, Amerado are enjoying the limelight and snagging international airplay despite of their location in Kumasi
