Eclectic Ghanaian singer, Efya Nokturnal has recently disclosed her decision to switch labels in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an interview with AJ Sarpong on 3FM, the songbird who was signed onto ONE NATION Entertainment shared personal insights into her decision to change labels and embark on a journey of self-reinvention by starting her own label.
“Also I’ve been working for 15 years without break and in between these times I’ve performing on all the shows and still representing and after COVID I changed labels so I had to get myself in ground again so I started my own label,” she pointed out.
Her revelation has come as a shock to many in the entertainment industry but have since welcomed the new development.
Efya’s announcement comes at a time when other music superstars including Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and Mr Eazi have all established their own record labels.
A vocal powerhouse, who consistently delivers captivating performances, Efya’s new label is set to showcase her talents and dedication to a new crop of audience and will take charge of her marketing, partnerships and distribution deals.
She, however failed to disclose the name of the label to AJ on the show.

The ‘Best In Me’ singer also in the past debunked the assertion that she and other Ghanaian musicians including R2Bees were signed unto Wizkid’s record label, Starboy Worldwide.
According to Efya, the Starboy Worldwide project was a collective endeavor led by like-minded artists, with the common goal of promoting African music as a whole, rather than being associated with any individual artist.
