Young Ghanaian talented singer and rapper Kallai Nana Qwaachi, popularly known in showbiz circles as Fotocopy, teased his dad for not being able to feature Shatta Wale in his music.

In an interview with Cookie Tee on TV3 New Day, the prolific nine-year-old singer stated he has an upper hand over his father, Qwaachi, following a Shatta Wale feature. Fotocopy called it an astounding achievement in his career.

“My dad has been in the industry for four years and couldn’t even feature Shatta Wale. So it means a lot to feature him on my music.”

Speaking on how the collaboration came off, Fotocopy revealed that the dancehall artiste reached out to his team and expressed interest in his craft. He added that he was astonished and was fascinated by the news.

“He reached out to my team and told them he wanted to work with me. When he told them, I thought it was a joke? He called me again and said he wanted to support me. I couldn’t sleep that night. I was filled with excitement,” he said.

‘School Dey Bee’ has gained over 900k views on YouTube since its release.

Fotocopy revealed a passion for music at the age of three. This is evident in his music style and the successes he has been chalking since the inception of his career.

He further explained that he got the name ‘Fotocopy’ because he is a chip off the old block. Fotocopy’s dad released songs like ‘Deepest Regret’, ‘Fr3 No’ featuring Kofi Mole and Fameye, ‘Cine Twem’, among others.

“When I turned seven, I didn’t understand the meaning of the word photocopy. So I asked my father, and he explained to me that it means something resembling the other. Then I asked him if he knows people say I resemble him, and he said yes. I later told him my name is now Fotocopy because people say I resemble him. And he was wowed,” he explained.

Fotocopy, who yearns to be the next big international act, appreciated collective efforts and support from the music industry.
