Ghana’s fast-rising gospel artiste Kofi Owusu Peprah has refuted claims that he is a cover artiste. He maintains that he has always owned his authenticity in the music industry.

Speaking on the Entertainment Segment of TV3 New Day, he said before making impressions of songs from others, he had a few original songs in his name.

“I am not really a cover artiste. Those who followed me when I started music know I had songs before doing cover songs”.

He revealed that his father gave him consent to reproduce his music anytime he sought permission from him.

“My father gives me the go-ahead to do renditions of his songs. I had to seek my father’s concern before doing a rendition of his music. I have to respect the oil on his life. He is my spiritual father too, so I have to go to him to receive blessings from him to do his renditions”, he said.

Speaking on his newly released song titled ‘Nyame Te Ase’, which features Amy Newman and Shadrack Mensah, the gospel artiste said it is the first release from the ‘Fathers Gift’ album intended to celebrate his dad’s 60th anniversary.

He revealed that the album has ten songs, and its full release has been slated for November this year.
According to the worship leader, the newly released song encourages anyone going through difficult times to trust in the immortality of God and keep up their faith in him.

“The fact that we are still alive and thriving despite troubles persisting in the world is an indication that God is truly alive and watching over his people. When we trust Him, he will definitely come through”, he stated.

The ‘Yesu Nyame Ba’ hitmaker revealed that he is honoured to have the two artists featuring on his new release and described himself as favoured.

Speaking on “Songs of Revelation”, he explained that it is a monthly worship session intended on leading Christians to God.

He added that the one-hour live-streamed program, held on the last Friday of every month, also helps to rekindle the relationship between God and worshippers.

Kofi Owusu Peprah has released songs like Matwen, Big God, Yesu Nyame Ba, and Amen.
