With her maiden name as Vida Aku Yayra Dzaka, Yayra is a native of Keta in the Volta Region. The 22-year-old finalist of Ghana’s Most Photogenic attended West African Secondary School in Madina, Accra, where she studied General Arts.
She currently holds a Certificate in Pharmacy from Pharmatrust Professional College and worked as a Medicine Counter Assistant.
Aku Yayra regards herself as an introvert and always shy to put herself out to the public. With four boys and three female siblings, she is the sixth of her parents’ offspring.
Yayra is currently enjoying her novice experience as a model but finds the Bikini shoot task a difficult one as she says “I am not used to showing myself”.
When questioned about her interesting task in the contest so far, Yayra has been pleased with all the tasks including; bridal, bathtub, hawk the walk and commercial shoots.

She was however, disappointed in herself with her performance for the Christmas shoot after the judges’ assessment of her performance.
Her inspiration, she said is her elder sister and Samson, a family friend for being supportive in all her endeavours.
Commenting about her feat to reach the finale, Yayra said it is a “good thing” she lost her job due to her participation in the contest.
“I had to bow out of my job because my boss was not allowing me to leave work and come for shoot”.
Yayra aspires to eschew the fierceness and courage by her role model, Naomi Campbell and had always wanted to be a air hostess while growing up.

Her hobby is dancing but unfortunately Yayra is not a good dancer and would love to have some dancing lessons from the DW Academy, a dancing group.
Commenting about the impact of Ghana’s Most Photogenic, Yayra said “I feel within me that my confidence level is up.”
Yayra believes the TV reality show is platform for young aspiring female models to develop their profession and would encourage young females with the passion to participate.
