One of the big event centres in Ghana, the Fantasy Dome has been demolished by some unknown men on Saturday, March 16.

Chief Executive Officer of the facility, Leslie Quaynor disclosed this is in an interview with Sammy Flex on Saturday.

He alleged that the demolition was undertaken under the instructions of the CEO of the Ghana Trade Fair company with protection from the Ministry of National Security.

According to him, the facility which he spent almost $5 million to set up is currently valued at $25 million.

“About an hour and half ago I was trying to reach my security team and I couldn’t reach them so I decided to come by only to find out that the Trade Fair company has under the protection of the National Security razed down my facility.

“With 4 or 5 bulldozers, they just came and within an hour and they just destroyed it,” he told Sammy Flex in a viral video.

Mr. Quaynor added that he had secured a court injunction since January to prevent the Ghana Trade Fair company from demolishing the facility to allow him time to relocate.

He stressed the Ghana Trade Fair company was fully aware of the injunction but did not respond since January.

“Whatever the reason is we should be able to handle this in court, that is why we have the court. The National Security cannot protect government institutions to do this,” he added.

Leslie narrated that upon his arrival at the facility, he met the leader of the National Security team on-site who revealed to him that they have been ordered by the CEO of the Ghana Trade Fair to ensure the demolition happens.

“When I got here the person in charge of the National Security, his name is Captain Frimpong. He told me that the national security had been directed here by the CEO of the Trade Fair to protect the demolition,” Mr. Quaynor retorted.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Trade Fair is yet to respond to the allegations levelled against the company.
